Boeing 777 Issues
The Boeing 777 has also faced a few notable issues over the years. Here is a summary of some of the key problems associated with the Boeing 777:
Engine Failures: The Boeing 777 has experienced a few incidents of engine failures. In February 2018, a United Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing due to the failure of one of its engines, which resulted in debris falling over a residential area. In February 2021, another incident occurred when a Boeing 777-200 experienced an engine failure shortly after takeoff from Denver. Debris from the engine fell onto the ground, prompting investigations and subsequent groundings of certain engine variants.
Fuel Tank Issues: In the early 2000s, the Boeing 777 faced concerns regarding its fuel tank design. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued an airworthiness directive in 2008 requiring modifications to prevent fuel tank explosions. This directive came after the 1996 crash of TWA Flight 800, a Boeing 747, which raised concerns about fuel tank safety across multiple aircraft models, including the Boeing 777.
Landing Gear Problems: There have been a few instances where the Boeing 777 has experienced landing gear-related issues. In some cases, the landing gear failed to retract or deploy properly, leading to emergency landings or aborted takeoffs. While these incidents are relatively rare, they have raised concerns about the reliability of the landing gear system.
Electrical Panel Overheating: In 2013, the Boeing 777 came under scrutiny when an Ethiopian Airlines flight parked at London Heathrow Airport caught fire. The investigation revealed that the fire originated from an area near the aircraft's emergency locator transmitter due to a short circuit in the electrical panel. This incident prompted safety recommendations related to the aircraft's electrical systems.

Although the current conversation regarding Boeing's safety issues is centered again on the 737 Max, given the company's poor track record all of their aircraft are a cause of concern for travelers and wider stakeholder.
